Days 4 & 5

We arrived at Lee's condo in LBK/Sarasota and enjoyed some sunny weather of 62 degrees with a nice lunch outside on the deck, walked the beach, did some unpacking for our two week stay and enjoyed a beautiful sunset! 
Today (Thursday) we slept in late (seeing we didnt have to hit the road-yeah), had a late breakfast, walked the beach, had a nice lunch on the deck, found a car wash and visited Marina Jacks in downtown Sarasota.  We are doing our best to get  into the groove of  relaxing and I think with a little more practice we will get there!!!!  Happy New Year!

Day 3-Destination Ocala, Florida

If you would like "fireworks" for an upcoming occasion-no problem.  They are for sale everywhere from South Carolina to Florida!  If you are interested in "yummy BarBQue" you should make a note of Sonny's BarBQue Pit..  We visited Sonny's in Ocala and left quite happy and satisfied with money still in our pockets. ( Pork and Chicken with three sides for $7.99 and ALL YOU CAN EAT - There were 10 sides to choose  from-Baked Sweet potatoe, Baked Potatoe, Mashed potatoes, Baked Beans, Green Beans, Cole Slaw, Corn on the cob, Garlic Bread, Corn Bread, Mac and Cheese-what's not to like and you could order different sides and if decided to order more!!!!)  The plates were plentiful and we could not finish our original order. 
Our drive was rather uneventful today with great weather conditions (we left Manning, NC at 9 and it was 29 degrees and arrived at Ocala at 4 with a temperature of 59)  After 3 days on the road we are ready to land in LBK to enjoy our first two weeks in SUNNY Florida!  Wish you were here:)

Day 2- Destination: Manning, South Carolina

We had some interesting weather to deal with today.  We started out with sunny skies and drove into a few snowballs hitting the car from all sides (which was actually snow melting off hugh pine trees along the highway). We also drove through a few white out areas which had caused several cars to go off the road and also few small accidents.  Although it was a shorter driving day we were happy to get to our Quality Inn to get settled and grab a bite to eat at Mirachi's.  Delicious mexican food!  Tomorrow it is Florida or Bust!!!

First Day Out-Destination Ashland, VA

We left Bristol at 5:30am and arrived (as predicted) in 9 1/2 hours at 3:00pm! The weather was a little nasty early on in CT and we were lucky to drive out of it!  Snow on the ground here in VA but the days ahead are looking warmer and sunnier!!!  All is well!!
